The Chicago Christian Industrial League hires new Development Director
Josh Flanders, from Facets Multi-Media, joins CCIL team
Chicago, IL – May 22, 2008 – The Chicago Christian Industrial League (CCIL), a non-profit organization that’s been leading the way in empowering families for nearly 100 years, is proud to welcome Josh Flanders as its new Director of Development.
Mr. Flanders comes to CCIL from Facets Multi-Media where he headed development and marketing for the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, as well as led media literacy workshops for students at Chicago Public Schools. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Masters from Northwestern, Josh founded the Chicago Institute for the Moving Image (CIMI) and the Festival for Cinema of the Deaf, opening the doors to the millions of deaf and hard-of-hearing Americans unable to understand and enjoy films in the theater.
Flanders comments, “CCIL interested me because of the active approach taken to combat homelessness and to empower those affected by homelessness.”
In his spare time, Josh is a writer and producer whose interests include rare books, travel, arts and science. He is also a skilled potter, scuba diver and balloon animal twister.
“We’re all so very excited to have Josh on board at CCIL! His enthusiasm and experience are a positive addition to an already dynamic development team. This is a critical time for the organization as we’re approaching our Centennial. I’m confident Josh will go above and beyond in increasing awareness and advocacy for CCIL,” said Judy McIntyre, CCIL Executive Director.
Founded in 1909, CCIL restores families affected by poverty and homelessness by providing comprehensive programs and services that empower people to transform their lives and strengthen our community.
