Christmas Comes Early for the Chicago Christian Industrial League…
Palmer House Hilton donates hotel treasures to charity
Chicago, IL – December 13, 2006 – Christmas will come early for the Chicago Christian Industrial League (CCIL) this year as the organization will receive a generous contribution from the Palmer House Hilton. The luxurious hotel is graciously donating beautiful mirrors, framed pictures, winged back chairs, ottomans and night stands in preparation for their upcoming renovation in February 2007.
CCIL’s Executive Director Judy McIntyre comments, “We are truly grateful to Thor Equities and the Palmer House for their generosity! These wonderful pieces of furniture, mirrors and paintings will enhance the beauty of our new headquarters at 2750 W. Roosevelt Road and in our independent living facilities. We’re very honored to have been selected as one of the charities to receive these treasures from such an acclaimed hotel as the Palmer House Hilton.”
The Chicago Christian Industrial League is a not-for-profit agency called to serve homeless men, women and families of all races and religions on behalf of the community of metropolitan Chicago. Founded in 1909, CCIL is a transitional facility that provides Help, Hope and a Home for those who seek it. The need for clothing, shelter, a variety of counseling and training experiences, life skills guidance and affordable housing opportunities are addressed. In partnership with the people of the Chicagoland area, on whose gifts and services it relies, CCIL offers encouragement to the poor by providing a path from alienation to reconciliation, and hope to the community as we work to challenge the effects of poverty.
